I used to think the Blue Angels were a joke carnival show. You’d always see them at these down and dirty nascar races filled with people who came in trucks and trailers

When I first heard about a show of force from “Extreme Ownership” I thought okay, pretty cool, pretty interesting, and then moved on… But I now realize, you never truly know what it’s like until you actually experience it. I’m just glad I’m not the adversary having to experience a show of force on the battlefield.

These fighter jets are super scary. The first time I heard them fly by I thought I was going to die, but if they were trying to kill me, I wouldn’t even have a chance to process because of how fast they fly. Seeing, no, HEARING the Blue Angels operate, makes you feel like a pussy but as they fly over you, an immense feeling of patriotism comes over you as you realize these are the men and machines protecting you.

They say men and women used to go to war, but I’ve never been to war. All I have to go off of are the movies, and they do a fantastic job of deflating how powerful the military is as we need superheroes to save us from aliens. But when the Blue Angels just fly over you, blowing out your ears and shaking your 7 story apt building, you quickly pull back your inflated assumptions before your war virginity gets taken away.
