Build Your Personal Website

February 12th, 2026

Even though there are 8 billion people in this world, a lot of us still feel lonely. Whether you have niche interests or you’re ambitious to a point regular people don’t understand you. Life starts to feel like an eternal quest to find your people.

Personally I have gone through 2 great purges (COVID-19 Pandemic 2020 & Freshman Spring 2025) where I’ve reevaluated who I wanted to be around and pretty much cut off a bunch of people who didn’t do anything wrong, but I just didn’t feel like they were my type of crowd.

While I do not regret these decisions, the result was a lot of my friends misunderstanding me, judging me from behind my back, and worst of all was the loneliness.

During the first purge, I was the most alone. My best friends moved to different schools, my crush lost interest, and my parents lost hope in trying to change me. I was a spoiled kid and the loneliness I experienced trying to right my wrongs made me question my reasons for living.

During the second purge, I knew what I was getting myself into. Fully aware of how lonely things could get, but I knew that eventually I would find my people.

So I started creating content. I posted on instagram and reached tens of millions of screens, broadcasting who I was and sometimes people would understand me and decide to reach out. By publicizing my brand, I was able to meet like minded creative and ambitious people. If you are thinking about creating content, I definitely recommend it.

But the reality is a lot of people are afraid of creating content. So the next best thing I would recommend doing is creating a personal/portfolio website with your own domain name.

Recently, I had a conversation with someone I just met who also loved reading books/articles, listening to podcasts, and writing essays. And through this conversation I realized there’s a layer to the internet that I had never considered. This guy who shared my values on reading and learning had found me and decided to reach out after seeing my personal website.

Your website is a beacon of information and when used right, it is a secret signal to the other lonely people of the internet searching for their tribe, their ideal friends and people. When we share our stories, our notes, our beliefs and interests, we unconsciously give other people a chance to discover who we are and potentially meet one another.

So if you feel alone, that you don’t quite fit in and want to find your people, stop falling victim to your environment and leverage the internet by building your personal website. Because no one will be able to find you if they don’t know you exist.

Buy a domain name, create a personal website, document your interests, and who you are on it, put the link on your instagram, linkedin, github, email signature, everywhere you can. Because people will stalk it, which is a little weird, but maybe the right person just might come across it, reach out, and become your next best friend, cofounder, project team member, prolly not lover- be careful about that, but the possibilities for human connection really are endless.

Build that website, let the world know who you are, and be discovered.
